South Florida Drag Racing Fans witnessed some great racing in near perfect weather conditions as the import and domestic crowd battled it out for $1,150 in Cash Prizes. Two bracket races were held, one featuring imports, the other domestic cars, all of which needed to run elapsed times between 7.00 to 9.99 seconds. The $250 Cash Prize Domestic Class was won by former CLD Champion Edwin Quinones in his Phony Pony GM Powered Ford Mustang. The $250 Cash Prize Import Class was won by Phillipe Fay in his Rotary Powered generation 3 Mazda RX7. They then ran each other for an additional $250, and Edwin once again won, showing why he is consistently one of the best racers at the track.

Congratulations also to our other event winners. Jimmy Long took Top Honors in the HoleShot Competition for Four Wheeled Vehicles, driving his Out of the Blue dragster to a 1.141 60' time and taking home the $100.00 prize. Current CLD Track ET Record Holder Sonny Michalowski took Top Honors in the HoleShot Competition for Motorcycles, driving his Peterson's Harley Davidson Drag Bike to a 1.189 60' time. In the Best Reaction TIme category, Jeff Clark established a .003 early on and held it all the way up till minutes before the races concluded when he was challenged with an identical time by a late arrival in a Chevy Malibu (Did Not get the drivers name as there were two drivers registered for this car). A run-off between Jeff in his quick S-10 and the Malibu saw him prevail anyway, as the Malibu red-lighted on his run-off run. Congratulations Jeff Clark, who is now $150 happier.
