Dateline Miami- Dade County - MARCH 1, 2010
South Florida Drag Racing Fans witnessed some great racing in near perfect weather conditions as Countyline Dragway hosted its second annual Miami-Dade Appreciation Day. Officials from Miami-Dade County and Medley Florida were on hand to witness our first Beat The Heat Event of the 2010 season.

Presentations were made to Officials and Officers by the track in appreciation for their continuing support of our efforts to promote safe racing and stem the tide of illegal street racing in South Florida. In addition to the serious matters and racing of the day, we had a bounce house for the kids, and a Dunk Tank manned by none other than track owner Pete Scalzo. One throw for $2 and three throws for $5 helped raise money for the Medley Chapter of Beat The Heat.

We thank all of those who came out and participated and supported us on this great day, including Mr. Bush from the Miami-Dade Commissioners office, Greg Owens from the Miami-Dade Aviation Dept, Vice Mayor Griselia Digiacomo
from Medley, Police Chief Thomas Hughes, Sergeant Jose Ayala and Officer Beren Anthony from the Medley Police Department, Deputy Kevin Taub from the Broward Sheriffs Office, Sergeant Ron Bradley from the Davie Police Department, Lt. Ray Alonso from the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Department and his son Andrew Alonso, and Robert Ramos of the Orange County (Orlando) Florida Sheriffs Department. We also thank their crew chiefs and families, all of our racers and our fans for being here on this very special race day!
